La Marzocco
The Florentine maker of café espresso machines, and what changed when it started building them for kitchens as well as counters.

La Marzocco was founded in Florence in 1927 and built its name on machines for cafés, where a group runs hundreds of shots a day and a temperature swing shows up in every cup. Its home machines borrow that engineering directly: two boilers, a group fed by the coffee boiler, and parts shared with the bar models.
That lineage explains the price. You are paying for a machine designed to be serviced for decades, not for one designed to be replaced.
